How To Sleep Right

how to sleep rightThey say that one of the most important factors that affect an individual’s growth is his/her sleeping habits and routines. Back when we were younger, during the times when we were still those toddlers, we were forced to take our afternoon naps and then sleep early at night. Did it ever cross your mind why they do such things before?

Sleep doesn’t only affect our growth during our childhood. Even now that we have grown bigger (but not taller), sleep is still necessary. The question is how you sleep in such a way that you get the chance to increase your height.

We have seen a lot of TV ads endorsing those expensive mattresses that assure you of a comfy and good night’s rest. However, most of these are only claims. It is not about the kind of mattress that you lie on but as experts would say, your growth during sleep is affected by the use of a pillow.

Pillows are not recommended to use when you sleep. Why is this so? Experts explained that pillows cause your neck to bend forward creating some angles that are unhealthy for you. It tends to elevate only the head portion thus causing your back to arch without you knowing it. This phenomenon only leads to chronic back problems, and more importantly, posture problems thus directly creating an impact to your height. It is about time that you know that your spine is somehow malleable and can be deformed when you sleep on a pillow. It will deprive your spine from being fully decompressed and become as straight as possible. This is the reason why it is highly recommended that you lie flat on your back with your legs straight when sleeping.

From that position, you keep your arms rested in its respective sides, or you can choose to cross your arms against your stomach. Do not hesitate to slightly move your heads on either side, depending on what head position you are comfortable with. Just remember to keep your shoulders, along with your neck and legs straight throughout the night.

You have to except that this sleeping position will be uncomfortable for you especially when you are still learning to do it. However, as time passes by, you will eventually get used to it. The easiest way for you to get acquainted with this sleeping position is not to lie down on your bed unless you really feel very tired, exhausted and sleepy. If you ever had history of neck or back problems, please consult your physician prior to any changes in your sleep habits or routine.
